James is a calm and compassionate psychologist, utilising his empathic nature to build a respectful and honest relationship with each client. He believes that each individual is their own expert, and as such, aims to collaborate with clients to develop a non-judgmental environment, focused on personal development and growth.
James has experience working in several settings, including Community Mental Health and Employee Assistance Programs, providing evidence-based psychological interventions for those experiencing depression, anxiety, work stress, and low self-esteem. He has also worked extensively with the Pain Clinic at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, developing treatment options for those experiencing chronic pain. Moreover, James has a particular interest in working with those presenting with chronic pain, eating disorders, trauma, and personality disorders.
James incorporates flexibility, passion, and honesty in his approach, utilising various evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Integrated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MiCBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
James is a registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and is working towards endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.
